Sebastián Gomez comes from a deeply rooted coffee-growing family in Circasia, Quindío. Together with his father, John, he manages La Divisa, a 13-hectare farm nestled at 1,700 meters above sea level and surrounded by native shade trees like Guamo, Guayacán, Gualanday, and Nogal.
John has over 30 years of experience in coffee and has been caring for the farm since purchasing it in 1995. Sebastián returned to Colombia in 2014, inspired by the specialty coffee movement he witnessed abroad. That same year, he and his family made a bold shift—focusing on quality over quantity and investing in specialty varieties like Gesha and Pink Bourbon.
Their patience and dedication has paid off. Three years later, the first harvests revealed the incredible potential of their work. Today, Sebastián and his wife are fully involved in both the farm’s operations and its future, producing differentiated coffees that meet the demands of the evolving specialty market.
Gesha
The variety is highly praised in the specialty coffee world due to its exceptional aromatics and floral qualities.
